Before I took part in the Expedition through the Arctic, I had lived by a schedule. In the Arctic you lose sense of time. Having 24 hours of sunlight we could start our hiking at what we thought was 3 PM but it was actually 3 AM.
Our entire being was focused on one thing: survival.
That day or night (I can’t say for sure) I was on polar bear watch while the others were sleeping.

polar bear. I was frightened and ran quickly to the other side of our tent for saving others people.
The bear, of course, was following me. I reminded that I had laid up a few fish. I tried to take the bear one by one fish and distracted his attention. While the bear was eating fish, I had time to get for warning my friends. All together we managed to escape from the bear. Everyone thanked me for my resourcefulness and courage. When we came back home, I remembered this incident for a long time. I was the hero and I was proud of myself. Now I am going to train bears.
