…with a little polar bear cub. The tail of blood was stretching behind him. I assumed that the beast had hurt his paw jumping from one cute ice floe to another. I reminded this funny bear cub when he was playing with his mother not far from our camp. What could I do? Now I was standing in front of a choice: to help bear risking to get the wrath of his mother, or to stay at the place watching the suffering of the helpless animal. Finally, I decided to help this bear cub. I walked quickly to him and dressed his paw with my handkerchief to stop the blood. He was resisting, so I went back very quickly to my tent.

The next day I woke up earlier than my friends. I was surprised when I had come out of the tent I found a big fish at the entrance. I told my friends about yesterday’s adventure. We realized that the bear-mother had thanked me for the assistance to her child.

Our expedition was over in two weeks. Every time watching the bears I thought about my little «patient».
