But, fortunately, he awoke only early in the morning and slowly and silently, because he didn’t want to wake up his mother, he got out of the home. The little polar bear went to the ice edge of the sea. Here he stepped onto the ice floe and, at once, he heard the cry of the mother: “Snowy! Wait! It is dangerous! The ice floe may break!” But it was too late. Snowy saw a huge crack running quickly across the ice floe on which he was standing! He was trapped on it. He saw the rushes of his mother on the shore and he shouted: her not to worry. He shouted that he would be all right and promised to be definitely back!

A block of ice with a bear cub on it was floating several days. Suddenly he saw a huge black «mountain», which was slowly moving toward him. Snowy was very scared. Snowy already knew how to read and he saw the inscription on the left side of the "mountain" – “Russia”. It was a ship that was splitting the ice in the sea. And the sailors had already noticed the bear on a block of ice and rushed to help him. They lowered the boat into the water and swam to the bear. Then the sailors gave him a fish and threw a net on the hungry bear.
So Snowy was taken to the zoo. It was awful: a large iron cage, a lot of strange animals, unfamiliar food, terrible two-legged animals who always looked at Snowy - all this made ​​him furious. Every evening Snowy remembered home, mom and dad. He grieved over the white snow, the bright sun and funny games. ....

One day a tall man approached Snowy. He stared at the bear, and his eyes were sympathetic. This man's name was Ilya. Ilya was engaged in observing animals in nature

He liked Snowy and he decided to get him out of the zoo.

A few days later Ilya and Snowy were sailing on the ship to the North. Snowy felt that something good was happening to him. He trusted Ilya. At nights he dreamed of running through the fields of white snow with his mother.
  When the ship approached the shore of his native land, Snowy felt childish joy and happiness, because he smelled the scent of his home.
Snowy ran to his house immediately and saw his mom and dad. They were very happy with each other! His mother murmured in tears - I'll never let you go travelling! Snowy did not want to travel any more himself. A lot of adversity he had to endure! He especially did not like the bears, which walked on two legs (except for Ilya, of course)!
